Powerslideengineer reduced the shell of the new Icon racing shoe to the minimum to reachthe maximum performance. The new shell is made of 100% carbon fiber. With a fewlayer of Kevlar reinforce the stiffness of the shell. We kept the 6k carbonouter layer of the Icon shell for two reasons.
Whatthe skaters need to know is all our 6k carbon fiber has 2 times more fibers persquare meter than regular 3k carbon and therefore improves the stiffness andstability of the shell which means you have a better power transfer
All Powerslide and Core Racing shells are heat moldable due to a special epoxythat is used in our shell construction.
The SHMR stand for Super Heat MoldableResin which enables us to heat mould the boot at any spot of the shoe as manytimes as needed.
Boot
Powerslidegoal was to minimize the weight of the Icon boot in order to optimize theperformance. Our PU nanoleather upper material is soft but very strong andresistant. We took out some reinforcement materials to make the upper even morelightweight and flexible to create a Second Skin Fit (SSF) as this outstandingmaterial wraps around the foot like a sock. The boot is very low in the anklearea following the request of top athletes. The high quality micro fiber thatwe use for the inside lining is very strong but yet soft to the skin for a nicecomfy feeling.
Alsoour new 3D anatomical padding is placed strategically around the ankle andtendon area of the shoe to assure the most secure ankle and heel fit.
The new Poron padding is not taking away space inside the shoe where you wouldneed it, but fills up the empty spaces to give more comfort and control. Poron Urethaneswere originally designed for medical purposes to provide custom foam cushioningand comfort which is essential. We chose a slow recovery urethane for ourracing shoes ā€“ a unique custom contouring material. This material reboundsslowly when compressed, which results in a custom fit during each use.
Mademake the Poron padding so great:
- shock absorbing to protect against impacts
- breathable to keep feet dry and cool
- maintains cushioning for maximum performance
- lightweight and flexible for continuouscomfort
This makes the boot more comfortable than anyother boot.
